Carmen's Restaurant Tamworth

This restaurant has to list as 1 of our ultimate favourites in Tamworth without a doubt. The food is always great, never misses. We've never had a bad meal here & it doesn't seem to matter what we order, it's always delicious. The staff are nothing short of wonderful. They are friendly, helpful & nothing is ever too much trouble for them. They will treat you like old friends coming to visit rather than customers. If you love good Italian food & great service then you can't go past Carmen's, a wonderful restaurant with wonderful food & amazing staff.

For the taste, fresh ingredients, the taste above average, Pastas dishes excellent For the service, staff all are friendly, but short staff, service is super slow, most of dishes either cold or hardly warm, only recommend pastas, that was the only hot dish. Awaiting almost 1.5hrs to get main dish. For the enjoyment, for the price, total $264, decorations should use real flowers, witnessed🐀chasing each other when sitting outside. It is a beautiful restaurant but it’s not worth it costs. 2 courses formal meal is not worth it.

My mother and I have had standing reservations at Carmen's for Friday lunches for many years. We loved the Italian food which was delicious and well priced, and we loved Carmen herself who was always welcoming and would visit every table to ask if people were enjoying it. Sadly, today was our last Friday lunch here, as we have noticed since Carmen sold the restaurant, its being going downhill, first there was the manky horse statue put out the front, then after a while we noticed the staff, most who had worked for Carmen for years were becoming unhappy. The the specials started to change, offering pub grub instead of fine Italian food. Then the menu changed and favourite things were no longer on offer. The nail in the coffin, was hearing staff have quit, and the lunch menu will no longer be on offer. ( This is the whole reason we would go to Carmen's for their great lunch menu). We have also been noticing that what was once a busy restaurant, has gotten very quiet, often we were the only ones dining for the first half hour. I doubt we will be back, unless it changes hands again and someone buys it who cares more about their customers than just making money.

Food is outstanding!!! Literally and figuratively! The chef, staff are so welcoming and attentive. I wanted more vegetables and was brought a large platter. Go and stay the night too. The motel units are clean and tidy and modern. This is my second stay at Stockmans. Food is beyond compare. Just deeeelicious. Not one fault. Will I stay again!!! 100%.

The thing I loved the most about Carmen's was that they sat us in a separate room that only had tables for 2. this meant it was quiet and intimate and there weren't screaming children or loud laughing groups of people nearby, which I deeply appreciated for our Valentine's dinner! The food was great, service was attentive and the atmosphere was pleasant. I highly recommend Carmen's to anyone, with our without kids because you will have a great time!
